Interpretation of Results

Wait 20 minutes for test results to fully develop. Test results are read by observing and scoring level at which the color change stops:

NEGATIVE

POSITIVE 10-30 ng/ml

POSITIVE 100-200 ng/ml

A Negative test result is indicated by the the absence of any color change reaction. Some discoloration may show before or at the zero level of the strip. This is considered a negative test.

A Positive test result for level 1 of the test strip. A color band covers level 0 and level 1 test areas indicating the presence of cotinine (nicotine) at a level of 10-30 ng/ml.

A Positive multiple test result for level 3 of the test strip. A color band covers levels 0-3 of the test strip indicating the presence of cotinine (nicotine) at a level of 100-200 ng/ml.
